dilettante faves: new york fashion week

even though we didn't make it to nyfw this year, i thought i'd still recap some favs, and pretend as though patrice and i were actually there. did you have any ss2011 favorites? tell us what you liked in the comments section! :)

hands down my favorite collection of the entire week. i loved the minimalism and monochromatic outfits. the leather pants are to die for. oh... and did you see the SHOES? they're insane in the best way.

the sunny yellow pants at band made me smile. i love that they kept it simple, but still offered a fresh twist on classic american-as-apple-pie sportswear by mixing plaids and playing with fit. how cute are those little lace shorts?

speaking of apple pie, no designer does classic american prep like tommy hilfiger. his collection was like a breath of fresh air in a sea of beiges and slub tailoring. as much as i love the grunge and minimalism, chances are these are the looks i'll gravitate to for my everyday (corporate) life. i'd likely supply my right ring finger for a pair of those plaid pants.

loved the saturated colors at alexandre herchcovitch. i thought the large dot print was a little overpowering on dresses, but loved it on the shirt/pants combo above. i'm feeling the urge to match my lipstick to my outfit!

i think i may be a little biased when it comes to rodarte. the mulleavy sisters can do no wrong in my eyes. i loved the mixing of unexpected prints, and the dress that looked like blue and white chinese porcelain. also loved the peplums and little ankle socks. adorable.

i thought the alice + olivia collection was so cute and playful. love the pops of neon colors all over and the funky patterns. they also get extra points for the minnie mouse buns and the bright coral lipsticks. fab-o!
